Complement vs Compliment
The words complement and compliment are commonly confused in English. Once you've read through this lesson, your friends will compliment you on your mastery of English.

English Verb: To Be

The English verb "to be" is the most common in the English language. It has three conjugations in the present tense: am, are, is. The verb "to be" can be followed by an adjective, noun, preposition, or verb.

« To be » est le verbe le plus souvent utilisé en anglais. Il a trois conjugaisons dans le présent : am, are, is. To be » est normalement l'équivalent du verbe être. Pourtant, il peut aussi égaler avoir ou faire. « To be » peut être suivi d'un adjectif, un nom, une préposition ou un verbe.

Meaning of the subjunctive in English
I know that in order to express will or volition, American English doesn't use "should" when British English does. However I would like to know if there is a difference in the meaning of the two formulas. Does "should" soften the willing or the commandment?
