Adjectives
Adjectives are words that describe nouns, like colors, shapes, sizes, and
appearances.
Contractions with Do
The present and past tense of the verb do can be contracted
with the negative word not.
Definite Article - the
The English definite article, the, is used very little in comparison
to the definite articles in some languages, including French and Spanish. On
the other hand, the definite article is used a lot more in English than in
languages like Chinese, Japanese, and Russian, which do not have articles at
all.
Demonstrative Adjectives - this, that, these, those
Demonstrative adjectives indicate which one of something you are talking about.
Indefinite Article - a, an, one
The English indefinite article, a, an, one, is used
to refer to something unspecific.
Negation with Do
In negation, do is an auxiliary verb. It is used to help make a
sentence negative.
Nouns and Plurals
A noun refers to a person, place, or thing, and can be singular or plural.
Possessive Adjective - my, your,
his...
Possessive adjectives describe to whom or to what something belongs. There
is one possessive adjective for each grammatical person.
Subject Pronoun - I, you, he, she, it, we,
they
The subject of a sentence is the person or thing that performs the
action of the verb. The subject pronoun replaces this person or
thing.
